This next pastel painting (also 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inch on Art Spectrum Colourfix paper) was taken from an illustration in a catalog, Victorian Trader Co. I loved the colors and the theme of the girl picking grapes.

Hello and Welcome!
I'm Sherrie Allyn, a San Antonio, Texas-based artist. I paint people & pet portraits in oil and pastel. I also paint decorative-type painting in acrylics. I also enjoy watercolor, pen & ink, and calligraphy.
My first image posting is a 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inch pastel portrait on Art Spectrum Colourfix paper. It is of an unidentified woman. I painted this in a workshop given by my friend and art mentor, Susan Carlin. (Be sure to visit her Art Journal here on Blogspot!) I had been concentrating on portraits of just heads and shoulders but thought I should try to incorporate some hands. I was drawn to painting this woman because of her hair, her intense eyes, and the position of her hand.
Image to be posted here as soon as I figure out how.
